Amazon Appstore is running a limited period promotion, as a part of which, the app store is offering paid applications and games for free.

Some of the popular apps and games available as a part of the current promotion are Sorcery! 3/ Game of Thrones – A Telltale Games Series, Photo Studio Pro, and Bloons TD5. Not all promotional items are available in all markets like the Game of Thrones game.

Meerkat for Android sheds beta tag

Popular live-streaming app Meerkat has announced that its Android version is no longer in beta. The consumers can grab the latest stable version from Google Play, which carries version number 1.0.

Google releases updated version of Fit

Google has rolled-out an update for the fitness tracking application Google Fit. The new 1.52 version of the app gets the ability to estimate distance and calories burned to give users a better idea of how they are performing in their workouts.

“Simply update your profile to include gender, height and weight and we’ll let you know how far you’ve gone and estimated calories you’ve burned off throughout the day and during your workouts,” wrote Allyson Gale, Product manager, Google Fit, in a blog post.Google Fit update

Among other changes, the app gets a new interface to check out fitness history and a home-screen widget as well as Android Wear watch-face to keep the users in loop about how close they are to their daily goal.

You can grab the updated Fit app from Google Play.
