Looks like Samsung is indeed getting ready to unveil the Galaxy S6 Active smartphone on June 5. The phone earlier today appeared on the company’s support website, the webpage was quickly taken down, but not before the alleged specifications of the phone, a product shot and the full manual were revealed for the world.
According to Samsung website listing, Galaxy S6 Active will be mostly same as the regular Galaxy S6 in terms of the specifications, but the listed specifications seem exact copy of S6, indicating that these could just be a placeholder. In any case, most of the specifications of the S6 Active are expected to be same as the regular S6.
The rugged design, water/ dust resistance and the lack of fingerprint sensor will be the only major differentiating factors between the devices. The S6 Active manual also mentions the presence of an Active button on the phone, which will be a shortcut to the Activity Zone application. The app shows data from S-Heath, Weather, Compass and Barometer.
In related news, US telecom operator AT&T, whose version of the S6 Active was listed on Samsung website, has begun teasing the phone. We hope to see an official announcement tomorrow i.e. June 5. Till then check out images of the phone below.
