ZTE Open: First commercial Firefox OS phone goes on sale tomorrow for $90

Telecom operator Telefonica has announced that the first commercial Firefox OS phone ZTE Open will go on sale tomorrow in Spain. The phone will be sold on its Movistar network and will cost just 69 euros ($90).ZTE Open

Mozilla partners Hon Hai to build Firefox OS device

Mozilla has revealed that it has partnered with Foxconn-parent Hon Hai to build a Firefox OS device. The device, which is Firefox OS Booth

Mozilla is targeting the initial devices at the developing markets, as there is a demand for entry-level smartphones. Sony shows it is serious about Firefox OS; releases preview ROM for Xperia E

Sony Xperia EJust a couple of days ago, we heard about Sony’s plans to develop Firefox OS smartphones in partnership with telecom operator Telefonica and now the Japanese manufacturer has come forward to show that it is actually serious about these plans.

Company has released a Firefox OS based experimental ROM for its budget smartphone Xperia E. Available for download, it is meant for advanced users and developers only, as majority of important daily use functions are currently not working.
