Nexus 7 India launch in November: Asus

Nexus 7, the $199 tablet from Google is expected to reach Indian shores this November. The announcement came at a press event hosted by Asus India in Bengaluru.

We had earlier reported that a 3G model of the Nexus 7 might be in the works, courtesy Paul from Modaco, with a delay in the Indian launch of the tablet, which was expected to arrive in October. The delay, we feel, may be attributed to the development of the 3G version, which does make sense for a market like India.

Details regarding pricing of the 7-inch tablet were missing at the event, but the company has said that it may be available by next month end.

The Nexus 7 has been a huge hit in the US with the tablet selling like hot cakes. Major retailers ran out of Nexus 7 tablet without hours. The point was proved when just a week later, Google had stopped selling the 16GB version of Nexus 7 tablet on the Play Store, underestimating demand for its first tablet.

The Nexus 7 tablet, which was originally announced at this year’s Google I/O conference, features Nvidia’s Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 7-inch IPS display, 1GB RAM, and Jelly Bean.

@ragav. Please don’t compare with american price rate by converting dollar into rupees. I am sure the price is far more than u expected. If u don’t believe my words then please compare the any other products US price tag with Indian one.

3g version will always be more than wifi, just common sense and added shipping and duty costs i guess would sale around 300 dollars(Rs 18,000) for 8Gb version for sure.

This device has a potential to change the market. It has all the features and better user experience. If Google/ Asus can price the 8 GB Wi-Fi version for 11k then rest of the local devices which are cheaper but not providing the full android experiences like optimization and play store etc will be history.

I am so happy with the 3G version . If Asus provide 8 GB version 199$ (12000-RS) in India , then this will make huge impact in Indian market. I am very upset with Samsung approach(No Galaxy Nexus in India). Any way this great news for Android fans. I am ready to taste the JellyBean……

I hope google releases instead of asus. Asus would surely price it beyond reach. Asus seems is trying very hard to sells iPads!
