Kobo Arc 10 HD tablet spotted online, packs 2560x1600p display

Toronto-based Kobo Inc seems to be preparing a new Android tablet – Arc 10 HD. The tablet was today spotted in a GFXBench listing online, which in turn has revealed the key specifications of this device.Kobo Arc 10 HD

As per the listing, Kobo Arc 10 HD will pack a 10-inch 2560x1600p resolution display and 1.8GHz quad-core NVIDIA processor but it is not clear whether the processor is Tegra 3 or 4. Considering the fact that Kobo would like to price Arc 10 HD attractively, the presence of Tegra 3 is more plausible.

In other details, the listing also notes that the new Kobo tablet runs on Android 4.2.2, which would be probably be covered by Kobo’s own reading centric user interface.

Rest of the specifications of the device are still a mystery and so it the release date.

To remind you, Kobo already sells a seven-inch Android tablet Arc alongside its line of e-readers.

That is almost certainly a T4 processor. A quick comparison shows off-screen rendering performance at 4x that of the T3-powered Asus Transformer Prime. On screen rendering is also always significantly superior despite the kobo having 4x the number of pixels. I don’t think the T3 is even capable of driving a 2560×1600 resolution display.

T3 is capable of driving 2560x1600p resolution display ( that’s the maximum it supports) but you are right, it can surely be T4.

it might be capable hardware but android is not well optimized at that screen size, in fact 1080p has just been adjusted slightly.
