Sony today announced the availability of its flagship Xperia Z1 smartphone, phablet Xperia Z Ultra and SmartWatch 2 accessory in the United States. All three devices are currently available from Sony online store and other electronics retailers.
The company has not revealed any carrier tie-ups for the newly launched smartphones and both will be available in unlocked form. There have been some rumours about T-Mobile branded Xperia Z1 but we are yet to see any announcement.
Introduced at IFA Berlin, Sony Xperia Z1 features a 5-inch full HD display, 20.7MP rear camera, Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM. Xperia Z Ultra, on the other hand, comes with 6.4-inch full HD display, 2GB of RAM, 3,000 mAh battery, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera and 16GB of internal storage.
Sony Xperia Z Ultra is available in both HSPA+ and LTE versions for $650 and $680 respectively.
Coming to SmartWatch 2, it has been priced at $200 and acts as a companion device for Android smartphones. It includes a larger display than its predecessor and NFC for one-tap pairing. You can read more about SMartWatch 2 in our announcement report.
