Despite all the leaks and G3 trademark filing by LG, if you still needed a confirmation about LG G3 name for the company’s next flagship, LG has quietly revealed the official branding in the press release for Q1, 2014 financial results.
This press release also notes that LG is planning to launch the phone some time in Q2 and expects G3 to boost its second quarter revenues, which means we should be seeing the G3 announcement and availability in the next two months.
“Higher revenues are expected in the second quarter with the release of the flagship LG G3 smartphone and wider roll-out of the mass-tier L Series III,” the company noted in the press release.
As the company mentions in the above statement, we should also see a wider launch of L-series III devices, which include L40, L70, L90, L80, L65 and L35.
LG ships 12.3 million smartphones in Q1, 2014
In the Q1 financials, the company has also revealed that it shipped 12.3 million smartphone in the last quarter. This number is up 19 percent year-on-year basis. In addition, the company stated that out of the 12.3 shipments, 5 million were LTE smartphones, which is the most ever for LTE smartphones in a single quarter so far.
