While there is no official word on the release of the Pink M8, we expect to see an announcement in the coming weeks. It will be joining the smartphone’s already available Gunmetal, Silver, Gold as well as Harman Kardon edition specific black/ gold colour option.
HTC expects to return to profit in Q2
HTC has revealed that it expects to return to profit in Q2, thanks to the launch of recent devices like One (M8) and Desire-series phones. The company has been posting operating losses for the last three quarters.
“HTC, which has been mired in operating losses for the past three quarters, expects revenue in the second quarter to fall between 65 billion New Taiwan dollars (US$2.16 billion) and NT$70 billion, slightly below NT$70.7 billion a year earlier but much higher than NT$33.1 billion in the first quarter. It also forecast that gross margins would fall to 21.3%-22.0% from 23.2% a year earlier,” wrote WSJ in a report.
The company’s recent decision to use contract manufacturers to assemble select mid-range Desire-series smartphones is also expected to help in posting decent financials.
