Talking about Samsung first, this Korean manufacturer has recently jumped in the dual-SIM Android arena in a big way with three smartphones – Samsung Galaxy Y Duos, Galaxy Y Pro Duos, and Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos.
While the first two are GSM+GSM dual-SIM stand-by smartphones, Ace Duos is a GSM+CDMA dual-SIM stand-by phone. So, you plan to use two GSM SIM cards, then you should choose between the first two, depending on your touch, touch-plus-type needs. If you prefer to use GSM for voice-calls and want to use CDMA for cheap data than Ace Duos is best for you.
Next in line is another Korean manufacturer, LG. LG has launched its Optimus Net Dual smartphone in India. It is also dual-SIM stand-by and comes with features like Gingerbread and 800MHz processor along with the 3.2-inch display. This is the only LG phone in the Indian market with dual-SIM support.
Turing to US-based Motorola, which is currently being acquired by Google, has also launched a dual-SIM Android smartphone in the country in the past. It has been a long time since the launch, but still it us worth mentioning. Similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Ace Duos, Motorola Milestone XT800 is also a GSM+CDMA smartphone. It comes with a very outdated Android version, but other specifications are decent for a mid-range device.
Coming to the home-grown manufacturers like Micromax, Spice and iBall, all three have released several dual-SIM Android smartphones in the recent few months. Micromax currently has four such smartphones in its kitty – Micromax A75, Micromax A73, Micromax A78, and the latest Micromax A50.
